Angela’s path into somatic work grew from a lifelong curiosity about what shapes the way we experience ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.
With a background in International Development Studies and Environment and Resource Management, she spent years studying complex systems and the forces that shape them. Over time, that curiosity turned inward, leading her to explore the body, nervous system, movement, and the ways we learn to cope, adapt, and protect ourselves.
Her professional training brings together Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP®), nervous system education, movement, energy work, nutrition, and women’s health. She holds certifications in Personal Training, Precision Nutrition, Functional Range Conditioning, Pre/Post-Natal Fitness, Menopause Coaching, Reiki, and is currently a student of ISTP® through the Integrative Somatic Studies Institute.
Motherhood became an especially profound part of this journey. Becoming a mother brought Angela into an entirely new relationship with her own body, her capacity, her emotions, and her limits. It became striking how much modern society asks us to override ourselves. To keep going even when we're depleted, suppress what we need, and measure your worth by how much you can carry alone.
It was through motherhood that she became deeply interested in what happens when we stop abandoning ourselves in the moments that are hardest.
What does it mean to stay present with sensation and emotion rather than immediately trying to fix them?
This question sits at the heart of her work.
Angela believes you and your body are not problems to solve. You have an incredibly intelligent, adaptive system that has been doing its best to keep you safe. Sometimes, the patterns that once helped us cope can become limiting.
Rather than seeing these patterns as something wrong with us, she believes in developing the awareness, capacity, and compassion to be with them and create the possibility for something new.
What I've learned after 25 years of seeking is I am not broken. I had to learn to stay with what was happening within me and I needed safe relationships in order to do that.
There is nothing wrong with you. Your pain, stress, and protective patterns are messages to listen to and be with in the body. You can soften those protective patterns, learn safety and trust, build your capacity, and move toward a greater ease and freedom from within.
When we are deeply connected within ourselves, that connection naturally extends into our relationships, our communities, and the world around us. Living an embodied and open-hearted life is a gift that extends beyond ourselves.
My capacity to support others on this path continues to deepen as I undergo my current training in Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP®), under the guidance of my mentors Ratha Chek (MC, CYT, RCC), Ana Ferrari (MA, C-ISTP, RCC), and Stefani Wilton (BA, RMT, C-ISTP, C-IAYT, CYA-YT, E-RYT500, YACEP).
This work is deepening and strengthening my understanding of the nervous system and trauma, and giving me more techniques and experiences to support your body's healing process.
My greatest dream is that you release old patterns that limit you and you build the capacity to feel joy and love within yourself, so that you can share that with the world around you.
Everyone deserves to feel fully alive and free of fear. It would be a great honour to support you as you heal yourself and the world around you.
